Rumors have cropped up that players should hear some unexpected news about a PlayStation exclusive soon. These rumors don't elaborate on which game this may be, or what the news is, but PlayStation may make an announcement soon.

With news on the PlayStation 5 coming out at a steady pace, there is a good possibility that this PlayStation exclusive announcement may be a title in development, or moving development, to the new console. However, it's hard to know what will be in store until Sony reveals it.

Daniel Ahmad, a senior analyst for Niko Partners, tweeted that "we might hear some unexpected news about a Sony first party title soon." He does not elaborate on what the news might be, or if it's good or bad news. However, other journalists and industry insiders believe that the rumor relates to a game delay. It's hard to say which game would be delayed, but if it's unexpected, this may relate to a game that gamers thought was coming out soon.

One common theory is that The Last of Us 2 may be delayed. While the release date of The Last of Us 2 was revealed last month, February 2020 is coming up in a few months, and it's possible that Naughty Dog needs additional time to complete the title. Others believe this news may be about Ghost of Tsushima. There are already rumors that Ghost of Tsushima will be a PlayStation 5 title, and there's a chance that the unexpected news may be its official next-generation reveal. Some are worried that the rumor may be hinting at a surprise Death Stranding delay, but that seems very unlikely at this point.

Whatever the rumor is referring too, it's likely that the announcement will be made soon. With the holiday season fast approaching, Sony will want to get the bad news out of the way to make room for any PlayStation 5 news it has on hand. With information on the PlayStation 5's hardware leaking due to dev kits being out in the wild, if Sony waits too much longer on PS5 information, consumers will already have all they need to know on the system.

If Sony has any announcements, the company will likely announce them, or a new State of Play, very soon. Until then, anxious Sony gans will continue to mull over these rumors.
