Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was originally one of the most successful titles of all time when it was released in 2007 and unsurprisingly there has been a lot of anticipation about the reboot. The game has been met with contrasting opinions largely because of the expectation that has been placed on the title, and fans have recently received a patch to address the majority of the issues in the game. With this patch, there are notes from the developers which have been left for players to see.

Modern Warfare has already been an incredibly profitable game and has sold well. The challenge that the developer of the game, Infinity Ward, faces is maintaining an audience not only for this title but for the acclaimed Call of Duty franchise. The note left by the developer shows that the company is certainly being attentive to the needs of the fans.

The PC version of the game had patch notes which were clearly meant to be deleted and they included information about future improvements. Perhaps most notably, it picked up on the footstep volume issues in Call of Duty and claimed the community wanted the sound "dramatically reduced". The note also suggests that there will be fixes for spawn locations, rank icons, and the Dead Silence upgrade.

This note will surely bring hope to players who wanted more from the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch. Issues are clearly being proactively addressed by Infinity Ward and the game is getting continued support. Interestingly, the implementation of the mode Gun Game gets a mention and is expected to receive "positive fan sentiment". It will reassure players that the developer is focusing on entertaining fans with game updates, many will now hope that the further improvements mentioned in this note come to fruition.

Many players have been concerned about Infinity Ward's silence over Call of Duty issues, this note is a sign that the issues are being actively addressed even if the communication with the community is not perfect. Even with the issues that have been publically lamented by fans, huge amounts of people are playing this instalment in the Call of Duty franchise. With future patches sure to come, casual players and dedicated fans may receive a game that they are both happy with.
