It's another big week for Mortal Kombat 11 as the popular fighting game is adding even more new content following the recent Terminator roster addition. This week, fans will get to go hands on with the new Team Raid game mode as well as partake in new Halloween themed boss fights for a chance to earn seasonal rewards and new brutalities. Alongside the update this week, dataminers have managed to uncover some very interesting potential news.

New audio files were discovered inside of the PC game files for the various announcers that players can select (including one that isn't available yet) in Mortal Kombat 11. In addition to announcing upcoming DLC characters like The Joker and Spawn, these audio files also reference the legacy character Fujin, who's not currently available to play in the game. What's odd is that the dialogue is specifically for when Fujin wins a match, which would mean that his eventual addition is going to be needed in some fashion.

While this is still just a rumor and fans should take it with a grain of salt until officially confirmed, credibility was given to this discovery as the original video posted to the MK11 subreddit topic was copyright claimed by Warner Bros Entertainment. Still, it's a bit strange as to why NetherRealm Studios would include dialogue so soon for Fujin alongside other Kombat Pack 1 characters. While the character has been rumored to be included inside of a potential Kombat Pack 2, he's never once been mentioned as a potential addition by NetherRealm directly. Besides, the current Kombat Pack is set to continue releasing new characters like Spawn into the first part of 2020, so fans like have a while to wait for any news of additional characters arriving.

Perhaps Fujin is a possible special addition to the game, made unlockable through a challenge some other community event. Ed Boon has been recently teasing Mortal Kombat 11 fans with a major surprise coming sometime in 2020. Would fans be satisfied with Fujin's release being that major surprise? With a big gap in time between The Joker's release in January and Spawn in March, perhaps Fujin could slot in between them for a surprise February 2020 launch.

Either way, if the leaks are accurate, it seems that NetherRealm Studios has plans for even more characters beyond the first Kombat Pack. This may also be a positive development for the potential addition of Ash Williams, a character many fans believed would be included in the first Kombat Pack reveal. It appears that his inclusion was NetherRealm's original intention as players noticed that an in-game notification included Ash Williams' name in the DLC pop-up. For some reason that isn't yet clear, the studio had to quickly shift gears away from the character, leading fans to hope he'll make an appearance in a future DLC pack.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
