From gruesome Fatalities to vicious Brutalities, there is certainly no shortage of finishing moves for fans to enjoy in Mortal Kombat 11. That said, a recent datamine suggests that NetherRealm Studios has plans to add yet another type of finisher to Mortal Kombat 11, and it is one that has not been seen in an MK title since 1996's Mortal Kombat Trilogy.

Specifically, there is now indication in the game files that Friendships may be headed to Mortal Kombat 11 at some point in the future, with the character files for each fighter on the roster now having a line referencing "Friendship." This discovery was shared by Reddit user thethiny, who indicates that these references to Friendships were added alongside the update that brought the Terminator to Mortal Kombat 11, and they have provided images to backup this claim.

Indeed, thethiny is no stranger to working with MK11's game files, as they have created numerous model swap mods for the title in the past, including one that makes every character pee in Mortal Kombat 11. As such, it is reasonable to believe that they have located the references to Friendships in the Mortal Kombat 11 files, as they claim, and that these references were not present prior to the release of the Terminator.

In the meantime, players can continue to enjoy the myriad of excellent Brutalities in Mortal Kombat 11. Since the game's release, the developer has consistently been adding more of these quick finishers to the title, giving fans a bevy of options when it comes to ending a match in style. While Brutalities sit in almost direct opposition to Friendships, which see characters behaving in uncharacteristically kind ways, they still serve as a way to assert dominance over a defeated opponent.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
