The Mortal Kombat movie reboot is currently filming and is expected to premiere in theaters on March 5, 2021. Many details about the Mortal Kombat movie reboot are being kept secret for now, including all of the characters that will be featured. As it so happens, four new characters have possibly been leaked for the Mortal Kombat movie, and they include some fan favorites from the video game series.

This Mortal Kombat movie reboot leak comes from a bizarre img - Australian politician Steven Marshall. Marshall visited Adelaide Studios, where some of the Mortal Kombat movie's stunt work is being filmed. In photos taken of Marshall during his visit, art for four characters who have yet to be announced in an official capacity can be seen. The leaked characters are Reptile, Reiko, Goro, and Kabal.

Reptile is one of the most popular Mortal Kombat characters, and the decision to leave Reptile out of Mortal Kombat 11 proved to be quite controversial earlier this year. Goro, meanwhile, is another big Mortal Kombat character, who interestingly enough played a big role in the original Mortal Kombat movie.

While even casual fans may recognize Reptile and Goro, some may be less sure about Reiko and Kabal. Kabal made his debut in Mortal Kombat 3, and was notoriously overpowered in that game. Most recently, Kabal appeared in Mortal Kombat 11 as a playable character. Reiko, meanwhile, debuted in Mortal Kombat 4, and hasn't really done anything all that noteworthy in the series since then. Considering this, his apparent inclusion in the Mortal Kombat movie reboot is somewhat surprising.

Since Reiko debuted in Mortal Kombat 4, this opens the door for more Mortal Kombat 4 characters to appear in the Mortal Kombat movie reboot (assuming that the art seen in the photos does in fact represent characters that will be in the movie). We already had confirmation that characters up through Mortal Kombat 3 would be in the movie, so it seems like the filmmakers are really looking at including most anyone in the movie.

We will learn more about the Mortal Kombat movie characters as we near the film's release date next year.
