There are two big news stories surrounding the future of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The first is that Halo: Reach is being added to the bundle and the second is that Halo: The Master Chief Collection, including Reach, is coming to PC. Halo: Reach being such a focus, it makes sense that Halo: Reach will also be the first part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection to be released on PC, with the rest of the collection rolled out later. And according to a new leak ahead of X019, both those events may be coming soon.

A Microsoft Store listing for Halo: The Master Chief Collection appears to have been published with new information Thursday morning. The console game listing's release date has been changed since yesterday, now reading November 14th at 9:00pm UTC. Not so coincidentally, that release time fits with today's X019 Inside Xbox livestream event. Meanwhile, the PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection has had its release date changed to December 3.

The leak, if trustworthy, indicates that Halo: Reach will be coming to Halo: The Master Chief Collection on console starting today, specifically during or after X019's Inside Xbox. Meanwhile, Halo: Reach, the first part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC, appears to be planned for a December 3 release. While neither of these release dates is officially confirmed and could absolutely be misleading, they do seem likely given the likelihood of both being confirmed during today's X019 event.

The nearness of a potential PC release for Halo: Reach is perhaps the most surprising news here. Halo: MCC is still going through testing flights, which have been fairly limited so far. Perhaps the team at Xbox will be opening up those test flights to more people between now and December 3, to try and put it through some stress testing. Or perhaps the team at Xbox is just going to crunch until launch to make sure it's as ready as it's going to be. That said, Halo: The Master Chief Collection has always been planned for 2019, so a December launch should be expected.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is one of the most impressive collections ever put together. It includes Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, the Halo: ODST campaign, and Halo 4. Halo: Reach will be the latest game added to the collection, expanding it to an impressive 6 games - perhaps Xbox's six most iconic games. It's a celebration of all things Halo and a fitting way to help bring together fans new and old in preparation for the next generation of Halo's arrival. That being Halo Infinite, which is tentatively planned to launch alongside the new Xbox Scarlett console holiday 2020.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available now on Xbox One and will come soon to PC.
