19 year old Isabell Lewis of DeLand, Florida has been arrested by Volusia County Sheriff deputies after she allegedly shot at a house on October 30. Lewis was arrested on Thursday, November 7, and charged with missile into dwelling/vehicle/building/aircraft, aggravated stalking, and tampering with physical evidence. Deputies tracked Lewis to baseball fields after they established probable cause.


As reported by The Daytona Beach News-Journal, Lewis allegedly got into an Xbox Live argument with three friends over $40 and "text messages with name calling." During the Xbox Live argument, Lewis reportedly threatened the victims. Later that night, the victims' home was shot at with a BB gun, breaking a sliding glass door. Luckily, no one was hurt during the shooting.



This is far from the only bizarre video game-related news story to come out of Florida this year. There was an instance of a Florida man threatening people with a sword after a power outage caused his game console to shut off. In another instance, a man was busted for drugs because he was playing Pokemon GO at 2am. There was also the case of a Florida woman slashing a man's tires because he wouldn't stop playing video games and keeping her up at night.

Unfortunately, sometimes these stories end with people getting injured. One recent example of this was when a Florida woman dislocated her son's jaw because he wouldn't stop playing the battle royale game Fortnite.


The strange news stories and headlines that have come out about Florida have resulted in the "Florida Man" meme, and it doesn't seem like that meme is going to run out of material any time soon. It's unclear why Florida seems to be home to such strange news headlines on such a regular basis, but there is one interesting theory about that may explain it. It's been suggested that Florida's freedom of information laws make it easier for journalists to get information on arrests, and so more stories about arrests are written than they are in other states.


In the meantime, it remains to be seen if Isabell Lewis will be found guilty of the crimes she's been charged with or not.
