Activision recently pulled the curtain back on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 1 content, but before it was unveiled, the company invited YouTubers to check it out at Infinity Ward. One such YouTuber was Swagg, who learned a bunch of interesting information about the future of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, including an existing map that will apparently come to Ground War at some point down the line.

Apparently, Infinity Ward has plans to add the Aniyah Palace map to Ground War. This would make sense, as Aniyah Palace is the biggest standard multiplayer map in the game, to the point that it even has vehicles for players to drive. There was also a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Message of the Day recently that claimed Aniyah Palace was a "perfect fit" for Ground War, so it seems Infinity Ward has always intended for the map to be available in both modes.

It's unclear when Aniyah Palace will come to Ground War, but it won't be the only map to be available in two different modes. Infinity Ward has confirmed that the classic Call of Duty 4 map Shipment will be available in both standard multiplayer and the 2v2 Gunfight mode. It's unclear when Shipment will be added to the game, but we do know that it is part of the Season 1 content, which will start rolling out on December 3.

As far as Ground War goes, Infinity Ward has plans to add even more Ground War maps to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer experience. So far, one new Ground War map has been confirmed for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 1, and it's a map called Port. Port will feature city streets, buildings to explore, and a shipping yard area, so it should have plenty of variety for Ground War fans.

Activision and Infinity Ward have made it clear that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 1 content could expand as the season goes on, so it's possible that even more Ground War maps will be added. Whether or not Aniyah Palace makes the jump in Season 1 remains to be seen, however.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
