Since launch, one of the most overpowered weapons in the entire Call of Duty: Modern Warfare arsenal has been without a doubt the 725 shotgun. There is no shortage of videos online of fans pulling off kills with the 725 shotgun from insane distances, which is certainly not what the weapon was intended to be capable of. Infinity Ward attempted to address the 725 shotgun issues in the latest patch for the game, but it doesn't appear to have gone far enough to fix it. Luckily, Infinity Ward has confirmed that there will be more balance changes with the 725 shotgun in the future.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developer Joe Cecot confirmed on Twitter that at least one more tweak is coming to the 725 shotgun in an attempt to make the weapon better balanced. Cecot explained that the next tweak will attempt to do away with long shot kills with the weapon, which are not its intended purpose. That being said, the 725 shotgun will still be capable of killing enemies at a distance if they are already at low health - it just shouldn't be capable of sniping players from across the map with a single hit anymore.

We don't know when this new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 725 shotgun nerf will come, but chances are it will be implemented sooner rather than later. Infinity Ward was quick to address the 725 shotgun complaints, and it has been releasing a new update for the game about once per week. If this pattern continues, it wouldn't be out of the question to see the next 725 shotgun nerf come to the game by this time next week.

In the meantime, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans will no doubt be hoping that Infinity Ward will address some other issues with the game with the next update besides the 725 shotgun being so overpowered. Modern Warfare has a camera angle issue when mounting weapons on walls that needs to be addressed, plus the latest patch seems to have bugged the E.O.D. perk so that it is effectively useless. Hopefully fixes for these problems come soon as well.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
