Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out this weekend, and players are now free to start grinding for all sorts of sweet rewards. In a departure from recent entries in the series, Modern Warfare is placing greater focus on letting players unlock stuff for free, as evidenced by its move from Season Passes to a Battle Pass. What’s more, it’s possible to earn some of these rewards without even playing the game.

That might be the only way for some players to unlock new content right now, given the server troubles and console crashes that Modern Warfare players have been dealing with these last few days. As part of a partnership with Twitch, Activision is giving away free item drops for players who spend some time watching livestreamers play its latest military shooter.

There are four items in total, with each one rewarded for a full hour of stream-binging, and they are:

  • “Poison Grapes” Spray – Watch for 1 hour
  • “Looking Grim” Emblem – Watch for 2 hours
  • “Collect Your Soul” Calling Card – Watch for 3 hours
  • “Reap This” Weapon Charm – Watch for 4 hours

There are, however, a few things to keep in mind in order to unlock these. According to Activision, both livestreamers and viewers who want to take part in this giveaway must first have a Call of Duty account and a Twitch account, and then they must link these together on Activision’s website. Even if they’ve already done it before, they have to do it again for it to work.

But once that’s taken care of, viewers should see the Twitch Drops confirmation show up on screen, showing that they’re free to start watching and earning those Call of Duty: Modern Warfare rewards, which will automatically head to their in-game inventory once they're unlocked. Best of all, there’s no limit to the number of streams they can watch at any given time, so they can have multiple channels running simultaneously and have all of them count towards their overall view-time, as long as they all have Twitch Drops enabled.

As for which Twitch streamers are part of the giveaway, it will be up to players to figure out the full list for themselves. But for starters, the Call of Duty Twitter page did highlight the following streamers: Syndicate, KittyPlays, RealKraftyy, and TeePee.
