Burger Town is the Call of Duty franchise-equivalent to the fast food restaurant Burger King, with its logo a clear parody of the Burger King logo. Burger Town has appeared in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, and even Advanced Warfare. Now it appears as though the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot may be bringing Burger Town back in some capacity as well, if a tweet by the official Burger King Twitter account is any indication.


As part of a crossover promotion between Burger King, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and GrubHub, Burger King tweeted a cryptic image about a mission called "Burger Town Takeover" with the date 10/24. This means that we will likely have to wait until Thursday, October 24 to learn exactly what Burger King is teasing with its tweet, but since that's tomorrow, the wait at least won't be a long one.




In the meantime, we can speculate about what this tweet means. One possibility is that the Burger Town restaurants in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will instead be called Burger King. Another possibility is that Burger King will be giving away double XP codes or something along those lines with certain meal purchases.





It could also be a tease that certain Spec Ops missions are returning in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The Modern Warfare 2 Spec Ops missions Body Count and Homeland Security both let players enter the Burger Town restaurant, so maybe remakes of those missions will be featured in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Spec Ops mode.


Alternatively, whatever Burger King is teasing for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare could be something completely unexpected. Fans will just have to wait until tomorrow to learn more.


Of course, tomorrow is going to be a huge day for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beyond this Burger King reveal. The game will launch at midnight EST tomorrow, giving fans around the world the chance to jump into its multiplayer, campaign, and Spec Ops co-op mode. In the meantime, it will be interesting to see if the backlash to the PS4-exclusive Spec Ops Survival mode is enough to hurt the reception to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in any significant way, or if the game will be able to exceed expectations.


Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches on October 25 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
