Prior to Call of Duty Mobile's launch, the game's beta was updated with instructions on how to use controllers. However, Activision either pulled Call of Duty Mobile controller support or didn't add it to the game at all (reports vary on the subject), but that doesn't mean there's no hope for the feature.

In a recent Call of Duty Mobile community update, the developers acknowledged that many fans want controller support for the game. "We hear you loud and clear that you want to know about controller support," the post said. "We are currently testing controller support and looking at the possibility of offering this feature sometime in the future, but we'd have to make sure it is properly implemented and balanced. Just hang tight."

It seems the main thing that's keeping Call of Duty Mobile from having controller support is concern over the game's balance. A controller would arguably give players an advantage because as we pointed out in our Call of Duty Mobile review, doing things like throwing grenades can be a bit cumbersome with the touchscreen controls. Then again, those on a touchscreen may have an advantage when it comes to aiming when compared to a controller, so perhaps it would balance itself out.

While no Call of Duty Mobile controller support has been announced, those who want the feature should rest assured knowing that the development team is looking into it. In the meantime, the Call of Duty Mobile community update also included some teases as to what fans can expect from the game in the future.

The Call of Duty Mobile community update post highlighted some ongoing events, like the limited-time Free-for-All mode and the double XP weekend, but it has also teased the return of a "classic" this coming Monday, October 14. It's unclear exactly what the developers are referring to, but perhaps it's a new map for Call of Duty Mobile or even a new game mode. There are a number of popular Call of Duty game modes that have yet to be added to Call of Duty Mobile, like Gun Game and Kill Confirmed, so there's plenty to choose from.

It may even be the Call of Duty Mobile Zombies mode that is teased on the front screen. Whatever the case may be, Call of Duty Mobile fans will find out on October 14.

Call of Duty Mobile is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
