Borderlands 3 fans have been patiently waiting for news on the game's upcoming Bloody Harvest event, as many expected it to only be available in October as a Halloween event. However, it's now been confirmed by Gearbox Software that the Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest event will be much longer than originally anticipated.


The Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest event release date is October 24 and it will last until December 5. The event will bring with it plenty of new content for Borderlands 3 players to tackle, and it will all be added to the game as a free update, so everyone can participate. Among the new additions in the Bloody Harvest event are "Haunted" versions of enemies from the base game, new legendary weapons like the Fearmonger, more Anointed loot drops, and more.




The Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest event also includes a boss fight against Captain Haunt, who is the ghost of Captain Traunt from the base game. By killing Captain Haunt and participating in the Bloody Harvest event, players can unlock a variety of in-game rewards, including new skins and a Weapon Trinket that looks like a shrunken head.




Considering the length of the Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest event, it seems like it should carry players all the way to the game's first DLC episode. The first Borderlands 3 DLC story episode is expected to drop by the end of the year, and so it should be available for fans of the looter-shooter at some point in December at the latest. We don't know exactly what the first Borderlands 3 DLC story episode will entail, but we should learn more in the coming weeks.


In the meantime, the start of the Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest event signals the end of the Borderlands anniversary celebration. For the past five weeks, Gearbox has been celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the Borderlands franchise with a new event each week. These events have promised increased legendary loot drops and the like, though some fans have been unsatisfied by them. We'll find out if they have a similar reaction to the Bloody Harvest event once it finally goes live on October 24, but it does look like it will be providing plenty of content for fans of the game.
